Arashiyama Park

Located at an elevation of 250 meters, this park features walking trails and an observation deck offering views of the Daisetsuzan Mountain Range and Ishikari River.

The Hokkaido Development Commission named this area during the Meiji period due to its resemblance to the Arashiyama district in Kyoto.

The integrated Ainu Culture Forest presents traditional village structures and exhibits detailing the indigenous customs of Hokkaido through artifacts and displays.

The park center conducts seasonal workshops and research activities while maintaining free access to hiking paths and nature observation points throughout the year.

The park houses numerous scientific plants and local wildlife, including Ezo red foxes and Hokkaido squirrels in their natural mountain environment.
