Tōmyō-ji

Tōmyō-ji is a Buddhist temple in Edogawa, Tokyo, centered around a large main hall dedicated to the deity Fudo Myooh. A separate Shotendo building houses another Buddhist figure and contributes to the layered design of the complex.

The temple was established as a Buddhist center in a developing area of Tokyo and has maintained its traditional layout over time. Its architectural elements like the Sanmon gate and Hondo main hall reflect standard features found in Japanese temple design.

The temple holds firewalking ceremonies during Setsubun celebrations on February 3rd, demonstrating the connection between Buddhist practices and Japanese traditions.
