Yujiro Memorial Hall, Biographical museum in Otaru, Japan
The Yujiro Memorial Hall was a museum in Otaru, Japan, dedicated to the life and career of actor and singer Yujiro Ishihara. The galleries displayed costumes, personal accessories, vehicles, and memorabilia from his work in film and television.
The museum opened on July 22, 1991, honoring Yujiro Ishihara, who lived in Otaru between the ages of three and nine. It closed in August 2017, and the collection was then distributed to different locations.
The exhibition included items from his acclaimed television series 'Western Police' and the movie 'The Sun of Kurobe', representing significant Japanese media productions.
The museum is no longer open, having closed in August 2017. Ishihara's Rolls-Royce can now be seen at the Otaru City Museum.
The museum welcomed 300,000 visitors in its first year after opening. Among the displayed items were Ishihara's yacht and custom manhole covers that reflected his popularity.
