Otaru City Museum of Art

The Otaru City Museum of Art presents collections of Japanese and international artworks across multiple exhibition spaces within a modern building structure.

The museum opened its doors on August 19, 1979, establishing itself as the first municipal art institution in the Otaru region of Hokkaido.

Oil paintings by Japanese artist Zensaku Nakamura form a central part of the permanent collection, representing regional artistic developments of Hokkaido.

Located at 1-9-5 Ironai, the museum operates from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM with admission fees of 300 yen for adults and 150 yen for seniors.
