Otaru Literary Museum

The Otaru Literary Museum contains extensive collections of writings, manuscripts, letters, and literary magazines from regional authors in multiple exhibition areas.

The museum, which opened its doors on November 3, 1978, preserves the literary heritage of Otaru during its economic growth as a port city.

The institution houses collections from notable Japanese writers Takiji Kobayashi and Sei Ito, contributing to the preservation of regional literary traditions.

Visitors can access the museum from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with adult admission at 300 yen and discounted rates for seniors and students.
