Kobe Lamp Museum

The Kobe Lamp Museum is a collection of lamps and glass artworks in Kyōmachi that shows how lighting technology developed over time. The museum displays both traditional Japanese lanterns and modern illumination systems side by side, allowing visitors to trace how light sources have changed.

The museum was established in 1999 and documents the progression of lighting methods from traditional Japanese lanterns to modern systems. It grew from an interest in how technology shaped daily life and changed the way people lived and worked.
