Akiyoshidai Safari Land

Akiyoshidai Safari Land is a wildlife park in Yamaguchi Prefecture where lions, tigers, giraffes, and many other animals live in expansive enclosures that showcase their natural behaviors. The park opened in 1978 and was among the first places in Japan where visitors could see African and Asian animals in naturalistic settings. Its founding marked the beginning of a new approach to displaying wildlife that differed from traditional zoos.
