Yonako Falls, Double waterfall system in Suzaka, Japan
Yonako Falls consists of two distinct cascades: Fudo Falls reaching 85 meters and Gongen Falls extending 75 meters in height parallel to each other.
The waterfalls flow near the former Yonako Sulfur Mines, which provided an elevated viewpoint for observing the natural formation during industrial operations.
The Japanese Ministry of Environment recognized Yonako Falls in 1990 by including it in the official list of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls.
Visitors can reach the falls by taking a 40-minute drive from Suzaka-Nagano East exit of Joshin-etsu Expressway through National Routes 403 and 406.
The falls originate from the convergence of waters from Mount Azumaya and Mount Neko, forming a tributary of the Chikuma River system.
