Chigasaki Castle

Chigasaki Castle is a ruin on a hill in Kanagawa Prefecture featuring preserved stone walls and fortification remnants. From this elevated position, one can look out across the surrounding landscape.

The castle arose in the late 16th century during the Sengoku period as a military stronghold of the Matsuda clan. It remained significant until the end of the Edo period.

The site is free to visit and easily reached by nearby train stations. Wear sturdy shoes since you will walk over hills and paths that can be uneven.
