Arakawa Bridge

Arakawa Bridge, Railway bridge between Adachi-ku and Katsushika-ku, Japan

Arakawa Bridge is a railway crossing over the Arakawa River that links Adachi-ku and Katsushika-ku through the Keisei Main Line. The structure is built with steel beams and concrete supports designed to carry the weight of trains moving across it throughout the day.

This crossing was built in the 1930s to support growing railway connections in eastern Tokyo. Its construction represented an important step in expanding transport links across the Arakawa River.

The bridge serves as a daily transit route for commuters connecting the two districts on the east side of Tokyo. People cross here regularly as part of their routine journeys, making it a functional part of the local transportation network.

You can reach this bridge easily from nearby train stations, making it convenient for commuters traveling between the districts. Keep in mind that access is only available through railway stations, as there is no public pedestrian walkway across the span.

The bridge curves in an S-shape that helps water flow more smoothly underneath without creating obstacles. This curved design was both practical and gave the structure its distinctive profile.
