Kōtaku-ji

Kōtaku-ji is a Buddhist temple located about seven kilometers west of Tsuruoka's city center, featuring a prominent five-story pagoda as its centerpiece. The grounds contain multiple traditional buildings arranged around a sacred precinct where visitors walk through covered walkways and open courtyards.

The grounds feature a dedicated building honoring Ryujin, the Dragon King from Chinese mythology, representing a distinctive religious focus often overlooked by visitors.
