The Fujisawa Shuhei Memorial Museum displays manuscripts, personal items, and photographs documenting the life and literary works of the Japanese author Fujisawa Shuhei.
The museum, designed by architect Tokihiko Takatani and opened in April 2010, represents an investment of 880 million yen with special merger bonds reducing city expenses.
The facility houses over 3,800 artifacts, including original manuscripts and creative notes, while featuring regular exhibitions and readings that highlight Japanese literary traditions.
Located within Tsuruoka Park, the museum charges 320 yen for adults and 200 yen for students, with free admission for children under junior high school age.
The museum contains a reconstructed version of Fujisawa's original study from his Tokyo residence, complete with transplanted garden trees and original roof tiles.
