Raiden Shrine, Shinto shrine in Itakura, Japan

The main shrine building stands on the grounds with vermillion fencing and includes a hall of worship dedicated to thunder deities.

Prince Shotoku established Raiden Shrine in 598 AD as a response to frequent thunder disasters and flooding issues in the region.

Three thunder deities receive prayers at this shrine: Honoikazuchinoookami, Ooikazuchinoookami, and Wakeikazuchinoookami, representing natural forces protection.

The shrine office operates from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a midday break, offering seal stamps and prayer plaques for 500 yen.

The shrine provides specialized stamps featuring the thunder god design in bright red or gold, accompanied by a matching sticker.
