Reigan-ji, Buddhist temple in Shirakawa, Tokyo, Japan
The temple compound features meditation halls, traditional gardens, and a central hall dedicated to Buddhist ceremonies and daily prayers.
Founded in 1624 by priest Reigan, the temple became part of the Kanto Juuhachi Danrin network of Buddhist learning centers in eastern Japan.
Regular monthly gatherings on the 28th bring together local residents for ceremonies, including special fire rituals during January celebrations.
Located at 1-3-32 Shirakawa in Koto Ward, the temple maintains a parking area for ten vehicles and offers funeral services for the community.
The temple grounds contain the designated cultural property of a copper seated Jizo Bosatsu statue and the national historic site of Matsudaira Sadanobu's tomb.
