靜峰故鄉公園, Public park in Naka, Japan

Seihei Furusato Park is a green space in Ibaraki Prefecture filled with roughly 2,000 double-layered cherry trees and about 200 Somei Yoshino cherry trees spread across rolling hills. The park contains walking paths, rest areas with benches, and open sections where visitors can sit and enjoy the surroundings.

The park came into being in 1965 when local authorities developed a hillside area near Shizuka Shrine as a public space. Over the next few years, it grew larger and took on the layout that visitors see today.

The park's name reflects the traditional textile crafts that shaped this region's economy and daily life for generations. Walking through, you notice how the layout honors this heritage in subtle ways.

The park operates during daylight hours with extended evening access during cherry blossom season when trees are illuminated. Ample parking and accessible facilities make it easy for all types of visitors to enjoy the grounds.

The site ranks among Japan's most celebrated destinations for viewing cherry blossoms and draws crowds each spring. The nighttime illumination of the trees creates an experience that feels entirely different from daytime visits.
