Kyusho-ji

Kyusho-ji is a Buddhist temple in Hitachiota situated along the Takayama Temple Trail, featuring a traditional Japanese garden layout with walking paths throughout the grounds. Two large acer trees with deep red foliage dominate the garden and create the most striking visual elements within the property.

Following the decommissioning of Takayama castle in 1695, the temple's buildings were moved to this location, marking a shift in the region's religious landscape. This relocation from the castle grounds became a pivotal moment in the area's spiritual history.
