Yōsui-en, Japanese strolling garden in Wakayama, Japan.
The garden spans 33,000 square meters and includes numerous paths winding through landscaped grounds with more than 1,000 pine trees and seasonal flowers.
Harutomi Tokugawa, the tenth lord of Kishu Domain, commissioned the construction of this garden in 1818, which required eight years to complete.
The garden incorporates traditional Japanese design elements, including a sukiyazukuri-style rest house and a teahouse for ceremonial gatherings.
Visitors can access the garden daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM during summer months and until 5:00 PM from March to September for an entrance fee of 600 yen.
The central pond, covering 11,000 square meters, contains seawater from Oura Bay, allowing local marine life such as eels and gobies to thrive within the garden.
