Arakawa Amusement Park, Amusement park in Nishi-Ogu, Tokyo, Japan
Arakawa Amusement Park is a leisure park in Nishi-Ogu, northeast Tokyo, featuring a Ferris wheel, carousel and play zones for children. The grounds slope gently upward with paths winding between attractions and a small pond near the entrance gate.
The park opened in 1922 as one of the first public leisure spaces in the region, serving families from working neighborhoods as a place to spend free time. After three decades without major changes, the site was rebuilt in 2022 with upgraded rides and facilities.
Families visit on weekends to watch children ride ponies and feed smaller animals in the fenced pens. The miniature train rides through low hills and offers views of the surrounding residential blocks.
The nearest train stop is three minutes away on foot, and the entrance is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. Weekdays tend to be less crowded, allowing visitors to use rides without long waits.
Old tram cars from the Arakawa Line stand at the edge of the park and can be viewed from outside. These vehicles ran through Tokyo for decades and are now kept as a technical monument.
