The park, established on March 31, 1980, was developed on a former waste disposal site that operated between 1971 and 1976.

The park serves as a central gathering space where residents participate in seasonal celebrations and annual community events throughout the year.

The park operates daily from January 4 to December 28, with facilities including tennis courts, baseball fields, and 173 free parking spaces.

Multiple observation points within the park provide night views of Hiroshima city and locations to watch firework displays over Ujina.
