Hakodate Arena, Multi-purpose arena in Yunokawa district, Hakodate, Japan
The Hakodate Arena features two oval-shaped halls with a wave-like roof design and a total capacity of 5,000 seats for events and performances.
The Hakodate Arena, designed by architectural firm Daiken Sekkei, opened its doors in August 2015 following a construction investment of 4.6 billion Japanese yen.
The arena regularly hosts B League basketball matches for Levanga Hokkaido and F League futsal games for Espolada Hokkaido throughout their playing seasons.
Visitors can reach the arena via a 20-minute streetcar ride from Hakodate Station to the Hakodate Arena-mae stop or take a 10-minute taxi ride from Hakodate Airport.
The exterior design incorporates the Tomoe emblem of Hakodate City into its structure, while the curved architecture eliminates sharp corners from the building.
