Ikenami Shotaro Sanadataiheiki Museum

The Shiba Ryotaro Sanada Taiheki Museum exhibits manuscripts, research notes, and personal items of novelist Ryotaro Shiba, focusing on the Sanada clan history.

The museum commemorates author Ryotaro Shiba who wrote extensively about the Sanada clan, a prominent samurai family that controlled Ueda Castle from 1583 to 1622.

The collection includes original handwritten manuscripts of the Sanada Taiheki novel series, which narrates the story of the Sanada family through multiple generations.

Located 10 minutes by foot from Ueda Station, the museum charges 400 yen for adults, 260 yen for university students, and 130 yen for younger students.

The museum features Le Pastin cafe where visitors can read Shiba's books while enjoying refreshments in a space decorated with historical references.
