Rinsō-in, Buddhist temple in Yaizu, Japan

Located seven minutes from JR Yaizu Station, Rinsō-in features meditation halls, gardens, and a three-century-old zendo for monastic training.

Founded in 1471, Rinsō-in gained international recognition when its priest Shunryu Suzuki established the San Francisco Zen Center in the 1960s.

The temple maintains daily zazen sessions, sutra studies, and monthly meditation meetings where participants learn traditional Soto Zen Buddhist practices.

Visitors can join morning meditation sessions from 6:00 AM to 6:40 AM, with accommodations available for up to 20 people in the meditation hall.

Under the guidance of Hoitsu Suzuki, son of Shunryu Suzuki, the temple combines traditional Japanese Zen practices with community engagement.
