Aigi Tunnel Group, Railway tunnels heritage site in Aichi Prefecture, Japan

The Aigi Tunnel Group contains multiple interconnected railway passages stretching through the mountainous terrain of central Japan's industrial region.

Construction of these tunnels began on July 25, 1900, marking a substantial advancement in Japan's railway infrastructure during the industrial revolution period.

The Japanese government designated these tunnels as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property, recognizing their role in the nation's transportation development.

Visitors can access the tunnels through designated walking paths, with the main entrance located at coordinates 35.283264 latitude and 137.086032 longitude.

The longest tunnel in the group extends 73.28 meters and features original stone masonry work from the Meiji period construction methods.
