Yoshinogawa Sunrise Bridge

The Yoshinogawa Sunrise Bridge is a cable-stayed crossing over the Yoshino River that extends more than 1.6 kilometers and joins two sections of the Tokushima-Nanbu Expressway. Its modern structure uses distinctive support cables and towers that allow traffic to traverse the wide river valley efficiently.

The structure opened in 2022 and represented a significant step forward in the region's modern infrastructure development. This new connection improved road links between surrounding areas and strengthened regional transportation networks.

The bridge structure reflects Japanese engineering principles, integrating advanced technology with practical transportation solutions that benefit the local community.

The bridge is easily accessible via the Tokushima-Nanbu Expressway for vehicles, with separate paths provided for pedestrians and cyclists. The clearest views occur during daylight hours when the structural elements and river landscape below are most visible.

The structure was specifically engineered to withstand local weather conditions such as typhoons and strong wind patterns in the Yoshino Valley. Engineers selected the cable-stayed design partly because of these extreme environmental demands.
