Organization for Pornography and Sexual Exploitation Survivors, 日本のNPO法人
Organization for Pornography and Sexual Exploitation Survivors (PAPS) is a non-profit group in Bunkyo, a ward of Tokyo, that supports people harmed by sexual exploitation and digital sexual violence. The organization provides free counseling, helps remove harmful images from the internet, and offers psychological support through trained social workers and professionals.
The group started in 2009 focusing on raising awareness about sexual violence issues. After handling their first major case involving pornography harm in 2012, PAPS began offering specialized victim support services and achieved official non-profit status in 2017.
PAPS provides free counseling and accepts anonymous requests to encourage people to seek help without worry. The organization operates both in person and online, with multilingual staff to serve victims from different backgrounds.
PAPS actively partners with internet platforms and technology companies to run awareness campaigns against sextortion and other digital threats. These collaborations allow the group to address emerging harms like AI-generated videos, which have recently caused increasing damage to young people.
