観音松古墳

The Kannonmatsu Kofun extends 97 meters in length and features a stone chamber containing detailed wall paintings depicting celestial diagrams and mythological figures.

The burial mound, constructed between the late 7th and early 8th centuries, was discovered in March 1972 and designated as a Special Historic Site in April 1973.

The tomb's interior walls showcase male and female figure groups, along with symbolic representations of the white tiger and blue dragon on opposite sides.

The inner stone chamber measures 2.6 meters in depth, 1.0 meters in width, and 1.1 meters in height, making it a relatively compact ancient burial structure.

The discovery of colorful wall paintings inside the tomb marked the first finding of such elaborate decorative elements in Japanese burial mounds.
