President's Residence, Almaty, Presidential residence in Almaty, Kazakhstan

The President's Residence is a building with white Carrara marble walls and dark blue stained-glass windows that blend modern and traditional design. The structure sits on Nursultan Nazarbayev Avenue and is surrounded by manicured gardens.

The building was originally planned as a Lenin Museum in the 1980s and was converted into a presidential residence in 1995 following Kazakhstan's independence. This change in use reflected the nation's transition to a new state identity.

The building displays Kazakh ornamental patterns in its interior spaces, embodying national identity through architectural details and decoration. These stylistic elements link modern and traditional design into a unified whole.

The residence is not open to regular visitors, but its exterior and surrounding gardens can be viewed from public areas near the avenue. The best time to view and photograph it is during daylight hours when the marble walls and windows are clearly visible.

Following the January 2022 unrest and resulting fire damage, authorities decided to replace the building with a public park for community use. This new green space will serve as a gathering area for the public.
