Baluan Sholak Palace of Culture and Sports, Multi-purpose sports center in Almaty, Kazakhstan
The Baluan Sholak Palace features a main arena with 5000 seats and a smaller arena with 1135 seats across its four-story structure.
Designed by architect Vladimir Katsev, the sports complex opened in 1967 and underwent major renovations in preparation for the 2011 Asian Winter Games.
The palace serves as a central venue for national sports competitions, hockey matches, and large-scale cultural performances in Kazakhstan's largest city.
The facility includes modern electronic scoreboards, professional lighting systems, press centers, commentary booths, and parking spaces for 850 vehicles.
The complex incorporates medical recovery facilities and training areas spanning 1.62 hectares at the intersection of Abai and Baitursynov avenues.
