Sacred Heart Cathedral, Vientiane

Sacred Heart Cathedral is a church building with tall bell towers, stained glass windows, and a central nave framed by stone arches and columns. Its classical forms shape the skyline of the city.

The building was constructed in 1928 by the Paris Foreign Missions Society when Laos was part of French Indochina. This period shaped many religious structures across the region.

After major work from 2004 to 2005, the building was completely renewed while staying true to its original form. Few visitors know that this renovation saved the structure from deteriorating further.
