Christoph Haberland, the chief construction specialist in Riga, designed and completed the Lutheran church in 1791, replacing an earlier structure from the 17th century.
The church maintains traditional Lutheran services while housing historical artifacts including 18th-century chalices and decorative candelabras that represent local religious heritage.
Located at coordinates 56.899167 latitude and 24.172222 longitude, the church underwent restoration work in 2014 to maintain its structural integrity.
The altar painting depicts Christ and St. Peter in a storm-ravaged sea, while the adjacent cemetery contains the grave of Baltic German writer Garlieb Merkel.
