Riga Radio and TV Tower, Television tower in Latgale Suburb, Latvia
The Riga Radio and TV Tower extends 368.5 meters into the sky with three support pillars forming its base structure and four elevators.
Construction of the tower started in 1979 under Soviet Union direction and continued until 1989, marking Latvia's technological advancement during that period.
The tower contained restaurant Veja Roze at 93 meters height until 2006, where visitors experienced Latvian cuisine while viewing the capital.
The observation deck provides views of Riga Gulf and Sigulda, accessible through trolley buses 19 and 24 to Zakusala stop.
Temperature variations in Riga cause the tower's tip to move up to 2.4 meters due to thermal expansion and contraction.
