Stadionul Republican

Stadionul Republican was a multi-purpose sports facility in central Chișinău with a grass playing field and seating capacity of around 8,000 spectators. The venue featured dedicated areas for visiting teams, officials, and media personnel positioned to view matches from elevated locations.

The stadium opened in 1952 and remained Moldova's primary sports venue for over five decades. Its demolition in 2007 ended a significant era of the country's sporting history.

The stadium served as home ground for Moldova's national football team and hosted major matches for local clubs, making it central to the country's sports culture for decades.

The stadium was centrally positioned in the city, making it easily reachable for spectators. The design with multiple entry points helped manage visitor flow during events.

The stadium hosted the 1986 Soviet League Cup final between Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and Zenit Leningrad, bringing international competition to the city. This was one of the most significant sporting events ever held at the venue.
