Description
Okomu Forest Reserve is a rainforest area in southern Nigeria that spreads across a large expanse west of Benin City. The forest consists of thick vegetation and is home to numerous animals including elephants and monkeys.
History
British colonial authorities established this forest reserve in the early 20th century to protect timber resources. The protected area was enlarged later to include more woodland under conservation.
