Universel Murad Hassil

Universel Murad Hassil is a Sufi temple with a distinctive square footprint and a golden cupola rising above the main building structure. The building uses concrete blocks and glass bricks throughout its design, creating a modern spiritual space that blends architectural traditions from different cultures.

The temple was established in 1970 based on spiritual ideas developed in the preceding decades. Architect Sam van Embden designed the building to express a modern interpretation of sacred space.

The temple holds Universal Worship Services where seven candles represent major religions, emphasizing spiritual freedom and respect for different beliefs.

The temple sits in a water collection area and hosts regular events including summer schools, meditation sessions, and musical performances. Visitors should plan ahead to explore the different activities offered throughout the year.

The architectural structure integrates elements from the east and west, with equal attention to all cardinal directions in its square layout.
