Kistefos Museum and Sculpture Park, Art museum and sculpture park in Jevnaker, Norway.
Kistefos Museum and Sculpture Park is an art institution spread across 17.6 hectares along the Randselva river. The grounds combine restored factory buildings with 46 outdoor sculptures created by international artists.
The site operated as a wood pulp mill from 1889 until 1955, then was transformed by Christen Sveaas into a cultural institution in 1996. This conversion preserved the industrial buildings and repurposed them as venues for contemporary art.
The galleries display works by renowned international artists in restored factory buildings that anchor the site. Seasonal exhibitions rotate through contemporary positions, creating changing focal points for visitors to explore.
The grounds are accessible from May to October through two different entrances located around the property. Opening hours run Tuesday through Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM, giving visitors ample time to walk the paths.
The Twist is a bridge and exhibition space in one, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and opened in 2019. This unusual structure crosses the Randselva river and stands out as a striking architectural addition to the park.
