Żarki

Żarki is a municipality in Silesian Voivodeship that spreads across 25.68 square kilometers in Myszków County. The town functions as a local center with administrative offices, healthcare facilities, and schools serving the surrounding region.

Records first mention the settlement in the 1320s, and it received its town charter before 1382 under King Casimir III the Great. In 1720, residents relocated the entire town to a new location, where it later became a center for iron ore mining and blast furnace operations.

The Jewish community built nearly 100 workshops and small factories in Żarki during the 1920s, shaping the town's working life. These businesses were woven into everyday activity and reflected the entrepreneurial spirit of the people.

The town provides basic services through administrative offices, healthcare, and schools accessible to visitors and residents. Regular markets and standard transportation connections make the area easy to navigate and reach.

The entire town relocated to a new site in 1720, an unusual undertaking that most visitors overlook today. This move allowed residents to develop the location as a mining and industrial center around iron ore resources.
