Szuster Palace, Classicist palace in Mokotów district, Warsaw, Poland
Szuster Palace is a two-story Classicist residence with five-axial facades topped by a tented roof. The building sits at the edge of Warsaw Escarpment, with an eastern terrace overlooking the Vistula River valley.
The palace was designed in 1772 by architects Efraim Szreger and Szymon Bogumił Zug for Izabela Lubomirska. Over the centuries, the building underwent several architectural changes that altered its original form.
The Warsaw Music Society operates from the palace and uses its elegant rooms for concerts and musical performances. These spaces remain an active center for musical life in the city today.
The palace is located at Morskie Oko Street and surrounded by Morskie Oko Park, making the area easy to explore. Visitors should note that the hilltop location may involve steps or sloping paths to reach different areas.
The northern entrance features an elevated semi-circular porte-cochère that houses a bathroom decorated with trompe-l'oeil paintings. This hidden detail reveals the artistic sophistication of the original owner.
