Opactwo Cystersów w Koronowie

Kloster Koronowo is a Cistercian monastery complex featuring a red brick basilica built in the Gothic style with three naves arranged in a cross shape. The grounds include cloisters constructed over several centuries and a residence building for the abbot with baroque elements.

The monastery was established in 1256 as a dependent foundation and relocated to its current site in 1288 after originally settling elsewhere. The structures evolved over subsequent centuries, with the most significant construction phases occurring during the Gothic and Baroque periods.

The name refers to Saint Corona and the place draws pilgrims from the surrounding region. The community of monks continues to live and worship here, maintaining the religious rhythm that has shaped this site for centuries.

The complex sits directly in the town of Koronowo and is easily accessible on foot with distinctive red brick buildings that stand out. You can walk through the grounds and enter the church to observe the interior, or attend services if your schedule allows.
