Szaflary, Mountain village in Lesser Poland, Poland
Located along the Dunajec River, Szaflary sits at the intersection of Nowy Targ Basin and Bukowina Foothills, surrounded by mountain landscapes.
The village dates back to the 13th century when Cistercian monks from Ludzmierz managed the settlement before it became dependent on royal authority.
The local cat castle, built on a limestone hill during the Cistercian administration period, represents a significant architectural element of the village.
The thermal pools complex contains four separate pools with water temperatures between 30 and 38 degrees Celsius, including indoor and outdoor facilities.
The village maintains a ski production facility named Polsport, which was established in the area following the Second World War period.
