Korzkiew, Medieval village in Lesser Poland, Poland
Korzkiew sits in the rolling hills of Lesser Poland Voivodeship, 13 kilometers north of Krakow, with its stone castle standing on elevated ground.
The village developed around a 14th-century defensive fortress, constructed during King Casimir's reign as part of the Trail of the Eagle's Nests fortification network.
The preserved medieval architecture and traditional Polish village layout demonstrate the historical settlement patterns of southern Poland's rural communities.
Visitors can stay at the restored castle, which now functions as a hotel with conference facilities and a restaurant serving regional specialties.
