The National Museum in Lublin houses 157,000 artifacts across multiple buildings, displaying collections of regional art, historical objects, and archaeological findings.
Founded in 1906 in a former Dominican monastery, the museum survived World War II with only 3,000 artifacts remaining from its original collection of 14,000 items.
The museum collections include Polish paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, and exhibitions documenting the evolution of Lublin's regional identity through centuries.
The museum opens daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Sunday through Thursday, with extended hours until 7:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.
The museum complex contains the Trinity Chapel, decorated with Byzantine-Russian frescoes commissioned by King Władysław Jagiełło in 1418.
