Cerkiew Przemienienia Pańskiego w Lublinie

Cerkiew Przemienienia Pańskiego w Lublinie, Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Lublin, Poland.

Cerkiew Przemienienia Pańskiego is a Renaissance brick church featuring a single tower on its facade with half-gables on the sides. The building extends toward the east, where it terminates in a semicircular presbytery typical of Renaissance design.

Construction took place between 1607 and 1633, replacing an earlier wooden structure from 1447. The building later shifted ownership between Orthodox and Uniate communities, reflecting the region's religious transitions.

The iconostasis from the first half of the 17th century holds precious religious paintings, including a Dormition of the Virgin Mary from the mid-16th century. Visitors can see how these works reflect the spiritual traditions of the Orthodox faithful.

The church is located at Ruska Street 15 and serves as the main Orthodox cathedral of the Lublin-Chełm Diocese. Access may vary depending on service times and religious ceremonies taking place inside.

The interior walls display Renaissance frescoes depicting the Holy Spirit, cherubs, and seraphs, alongside crucifixion paintings from the 17th century. These decorative elements give the space its distinctive spiritual character.
