Skomielna Czarna, Village in Lesser Poland, Poland
Skomielna Czarna extends across rolling hills in southern Poland, positioned 38 kilometers south of Krakow and 14 kilometers southwest of Myslenice.
The village gained religious significance in 1956 when it received a historical Madonna image from Kolomyia, previously preserved in eastern Poland until 1946.
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Skomielna Czarna maintains Polish religious traditions through two annual celebrations on May 31 and August 26.
The village, with postal code 32-437, connects to major transportation routes and maintains a population of 1,700 residents within the Gmina Tokarnia administrative district.
The local sanctuary houses a remarkable copy of the Jasna Gora Madonna, which according to records was created simultaneously with the original in medieval times.
