EC1 Lodz

EC1 Lodz is a large building complex with three different exhibition areas housed within the renovated structure of a former power station. Inside, visitors find a film culture center, a science and technology facility, and a space dedicated to comics and graphic storytelling arranged together.

The building was constructed in 1907 as a coal-burning power station and supplied electricity to Lodz for nearly a century. After it was shut down in 2000, it was completely renovated and transformed into a cultural center.

The center displays how films are made in Poland and what role they play in the culture. Visitors can learn about the history of Polish cinema and understand how stories come to life on screen.

The site is large, so visitors should allow enough time to explore the different areas and move between them comfortably. It helps to get a map ahead of time or pay attention to the signage to make sure you do not miss any section.

The eastern wing houses a planetarium with advanced projection equipment that displays astronomy content on a spherical dome screen. This setup allows visitors to experience the cosmos in an immersive and special way.
