St. Andrew Bobola Church

St. Andrew Bobola Church is a timber-framed structure in Milicz featuring a Greek cross floor plan with semi-hexagonal sections in the chancel and transept arms. The interior showcases multiple galleries supported by arches, a flat decorated ceiling, and a pipe organ built by Wilhelm Sauer in 1887.

Built in 1709 following the Treaty of Altranstädt, this church began as a Lutheran grace church serving a German-speaking congregation. It transitioned to Roman Catholic use in 1946, with the bell tower added later between 1788 and 1789.

This church displays the character of a grace church built for religious freedom, with its layered interior galleries and ornate woodwork reflecting 18th-century craftsmanship. The space shows how communities organized worship in timber structures designed to accommodate growing congregations.
