Kościół św. Agnieszki w Goniądzu

Saint Agnes Church is a brick building with two prominent towers that rises on a small hill overlooking the surroundings. The structure displays baroque revival features and sits adjacent to a cemetery located close to the town center.

A wooden predecessor stood on this site from the 15th century until it was replaced by the current brick structure in the 1920s. The reconstruction project involved a significant architectural redesign that shaped the building visitors see today.

The church serves as a spiritual focal point for the local community and carries the name of Saint Agnes in its dedication. You can see how it remains central to parish life through its several chapels that serve different devotional purposes.

The building is situated on the south side of the market square and is reachable by foot from the town center. Those wishing to visit can find clear street access and plenty of space around the cemetery area for orientation.

The two towers were destroyed during wartime and required complete reconstruction in the decades that followed. The restoration work happened gradually and included repairs to the roof and conservation of the interior elements.
