Koszary wojskowe w Skierniewicach is a military complex comprising eight residential buildings and several administrative structures distributed across both sides of Kilinskiego Street. The compound also includes the former garrison church and additional facilities developed over multiple construction phases.
Construction of the barracks began in 1867 under architect Aleksandr Woyde to house the 38th Tobolsk Infantry Regiment of the Russian Imperial Army. The site subsequently underwent different military occupations that left their mark on the buildings and grounds.
The former military church erected in 1903 stands between the barracks buildings and continues to serve the garrison and local community. It shows how religious spaces once held an important place in daily military life.
Several buildings of the former military complex now house a State Vocational School, while others remain under military supervision. Some areas may not be freely accessible, so it is worth checking what sections you can visit beforehand.
