Church of St. Nicholas in Myców

The St. Nicholas Church in Myców is a wooden structure featuring an octagonal dome with a lantern on a tall drum creating multiple roof levels. The building combines a square nave, presbytery, and narthex with a prominent roof overhang at its base.

Built in 1859, the church received major modifications in 1885 including a two-story porch and removal of the wall between narthex and nave. These alterations reflect changes in how the building was used and accessed over time.

The church interior holds remnants of an iconostasis and polychrome paintings from 1862 that reflect Eastern Orthodox traditions. These decorative elements show how the place served religious communities and their artistic practices over time.

The church sits on a hill at the village's northern edge and can be viewed from outside. It now serves as a subsidiary church for the Roman Catholic Żniatyn parish, so visiting hours may vary depending on local needs.

The combination of wooden construction with a refined octagonal dome was unusual for church buildings of that era. The design demonstrates how local craftspeople adapted traditional Eastern Orthodox architecture using regional building techniques.
