Saints Roch and John the Baptist church in Brochów, church building in Brochów, Masovian Voivodeship, Poland

Saints Roch and John the Baptist church in Brochów is a brick building from the middle of the 16th century with three distinctive round towers. The interior features three aisles with vaulted ceilings decorated with painted patterns, while the exterior walls display the red brick typical of religious structures from that era.

Construction began around 1551 under Jan Brochowski's direction and was led by a Venetian craftsman. After destruction in the 17th century from wars, the building was reconstructed in Baroque style, while World War I bombardment caused severe damage that was not repaired until the 1920s.

The church is named after two saints who held special meaning for the Brochów community. Visitors today can see the colorful painted vaults and decorative details inside, which reflect how central this place was to local spiritual life across the centuries.

The church sits in a flat area near the Bzura River and is easily recognized from outside by its three large towers. The site is accessible on foot, with an old star-shaped moat around the grounds that visitors can explore while walking around.

The renowned composer Fryderyk Chopin was baptized in this church in 1810, and his parents were married here in 1806. This connection to the celebrated musician draws many visitors who wish to explore the places that shaped his life.
