Centrum Historii Zajezdnia

Centrum Historii Zajezdnia is housed in a restored 19th-century tram depot building with multiple exhibition spaces arranged across different levels and galleries. The center displays both the history of public transportation and the city's post-1945 development through multimedia presentations and historical artifacts.

The building was originally a functioning tram depot that shaped urban transportation development over a century. Its conversion to a cultural institution began after 2000 and now documents the transformation of the city and region following World War II.

The exhibitions focus on everyday experiences of residents across different periods, showing how life in the city has transformed over time. Visitors encounter personal stories through photographs, objects, and accounts from people who lived through these changes.

The center offers guided tours in several languages and is fully accessible for visitors with mobility challenges. Allow at least two to three hours for a complete visit, as the different floors contain extensive material to explore.

The Documentation Center systematically collects and digitizes historical photographs, archives, and personal accounts from witnesses of regional events. These collections are partially available online and serve as an important resource for researchers and visitors interested in exploring the city's recent history in depth.
